BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATES DUE | Sunday, December 19, 2010

FIRST PENANCE MINI RETREAT | Saturday, January 22, 2011 | 9:00 AM
Nurturing the faith of children is one of most important ways that parents assist in the formation of their children. To strengthen the efforts of parents, the Religious Education staff hosts a Mini Retreat for all children receiving First Penance and First Communion. Since the retreat is designed to help parents to form their children in the Catholic Faith, the participation of at least one parent is required for this 3-hour mini retreat.
FIRST PENANCE | Friday, January 28, 2011 | 6:30 PM
Receiving the Sacrament of Penance for the first time can be one of the most significant spiritual experiences in a child's life. In this first encounter with Christ in the confessional, children learn that the One who knows them best is full of compassion and tender mercy.
Take a few minutes with your child before bringing them to receive their First Penance. Share with them how this sacrament has positively impacted your relationship with Christ. Take a moment to pray with them. Then encourage them to open their hearts fully to Christ, and make a good confession.
Note: First Penance will be offered to Spanish language children at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 29, 2011.
